What time of day am I?
You are breakfasty, like a pile of pancakes on a Sunday morning that have just the right amount of syrup, so every bite is sweet perfection and not a soppy mess. You are a glass of orange juice that's cool, refreshing, and not overly pulpy. You are the time of day that's just right for turning the pages of a newspaper, flipping through channels, or clicking around online to get a sense of how the world changed during the night. You don't want to stumble sleepily through life, so you make a real effort to wake your brain up and get it thinking. You feel inspired to accomplish things (whether it's checking something off your to-do list or changing the world), but there's plenty of time for making things happen later in the day. First, pancakes.

I'm up to 4 cakes!
This is my birthday week and the current cake count is at 4! Lsst weekend I visited my relatives and they had an adorable little puppy cake for me. My students had a cake for me on my actual birthday. (Which was funny because I thought this class didn't really like me that much!) I went in a grumbly mood because I really didn't want to go into work on my bday and they all sang happy birthday and had a lovely cake for me. (They then tried to get me to watch a movie in class but I lectured anyway!) Then my folks took me out last night and of course there was cake. Then my best firend sent me a king cake. Tonight I am going out with my friends to a jazz club so probably no cake. I wonder if there is a caketini?

Silence is golden....maybe not
Okay - it has been seriously silent here at the Andrea Chronicles...but that is because I have been having too much fun!
Last week I had some friends in from out of town with thier 1 year old baby whom I havn't seen in ...about a year. Fortunately they have been very good about sending pictures so I did not feel like I was greeting a total stranger - because let me tell you the differnce between 1 month and 1 year is pretty extreme! I certianly did not change as much in one year - although I think we did each gain about the same amount of weight! But she is soooo cute. If you say - "what does a snake do?" She sticks her little pink tongue in and out. So cute!
And then I headed up to visit some relatives for the weekend. Hadn't seen them in a while and I like to visit over Chsirtmas if I can. (And yes this counts as over Christmas since I just sent out my Christmas cards last week and final gifts are going out next week)
And today is my birthday. So happy birthday me.
